Hi Class!!
Welcome class to your first ever flipped classroom! What we propose to do today is to reverse the way you learn. This means that instead of sitting through another lecture in class, you will be able to watch this short video before you come to class on your own time. Once you come to class you’ll be able to focus on mastering the skills that have been taught through hands-on activities, discussion and group work – which means that technically, you’ll do your homework in class. We will also have more time to work with you on a one-to-one basis.
This is just a small example of what you can do in the class with your students. Some of the great advantages of a flipped classroom is not only that the students can be engaged and active in class but also it incorporates differentiation into your classroom. Many times we have students who cannot make it to class or have trouble remembering what was taught. A short overview of the days lecture can help those students stay on track.
