This online application is a fast and 'easy' way of having students properly city their sources. Too many times students hand in assignments without proper citations. Citations can become tedious when writing out each step that goes into a proper bibliography and this website takes the difficulty out of that. The website has dual uses that can be accessed. The first is a quick way of citing a couple of resources for a project. The second function can be utilized with the student logging into the website and having control of all of their projects on one page. The website will keep a running track of all the citations the students put into it.
To use the application, the students need to either first login (some schools have their own logins for students) or they can just use the main page of the website. The students have the choice of which style they wish to write in depending on the subject; mla, chicago, etc. The students can then choose from a list of resource options such as website, book, and newspaper. Within each tab the search bar tells the students what type of information they need to enter. The information ranges from URL to ISBN numbers. With typing just an ISBN number the website will automatically generate a citation based on the criteria checked off.
This website can be a teachers best friend in that it is easy to navigate for both students and teachers as well as it helps students easily cite their sources.
